Reporting to Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Plant controller will be responsible to provide financial information to appropriate stakeholders in an accurate, timely and effective manner through leading, coaching and performing all duties necessary. The individual will also be leading, coaching and managing the Plant IT and Accounting Teams. Located in London, Ontario, fully on site role. Responsibilities Meeting all business plan goals: Motivating the management to address financial objectives. To provide financial information to appropriate stakeholders in an accurate, timely and effective manner through leading, coaching and performing all duties necessary. Also to lead, coach and manage the Plant IT and Accounting Teams concerns in an effective and timely manner. Budgets: Ensure that budgets are met or exceeded, and financial / departmental goals achieved. Systems: Ensuring financial and plant IT systems are effective, timely, efficient, legal and complete. Supervising: Motivating and guiding employees to work together effectively and to perform their tasks and duties with pride and satisfaction. Goal-Setting: Prioritizing activities to ensure timely, accurate completion of tasks necessary to fulfill teams and company goals. Training: Ensuring that adequate training / tools to complete the job are provided. Performance Management: Conducting employee evaluations and counseling employees on performance related issues. Change Management: Facilitating communication, change, and progress (when needed). Environmental Management Team: Responsible for ensuring continuous improvement by reviewing objectives and targets and internal/external customer concerns; reviewing audit results and EMS programs elements and establishing action items and recommendations in accordance to ISO 14001 Standards. Internal Controls / Audit: Support all activities related to annual Financial Audit and address any audit findings. Enforce policies and procedures, maintain tools and systems of internal control for business processes, monitoring and tracking gap assessment. Objectives/Targets Team: Responsible for setting objectives and targets and establishing measurables. Working Capital Management: Global support to all locations for all aspects of working capital achievement including reviewing and monitoring execution of action plans. Communication: Effectively communicating with all employees, management and customers and ensuring that open and honest lines of communication are available. Responding to all external reporting needs (Shareholder, Corporate, Government, etc.) in a timely and effective manner. Other responsibilities as required, including special projects as they arise. Requirements Looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline + CPA/CA/CMA/CGA or international equivalent. 5–10+ years of cost accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience in FP&A and Financial Reporting. Key Characteristics Ability to cope with multiple priorities, set direction and achieve goals. Act independently, with a sense of urgency, and the confidence to handle a variety of challenges and fast paced environment. Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written. Budgeting and Forecast. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Must have strong computer knowledge with MS Office Suite, ERP systems, and accounting software. Strong understanding of Accounting Practices & Principles including manufacturing cost accounting. Performance Management, Coaching, Motivating employees through a goal-oriented leadership style. Recruiting, Interviews, and making sound hiring decisions. Project Management and appropriate delegation. Knowledge and adherence to relevant procedures and legislation. Ability to Travel.
