Program Leader Wage: $20.00 per hourHours: Full-TimeMonday - Friday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pmLocation: Chase River, BC Job Duties Assists with the design, implementation, and evaluation of a program schedule that includes age‑appropriate activities for program participants in accordance with BGCCVI Core Programming standards. Ensures children are actively supervised at all times. Awareness of outstanding issues and needs of program participants and corresponding care plans; works in a team to implement identified care plan goals and strategies, ensuring consistent practice. When funding is available, a Program Leader may be designated as a Supported Child Development (SCD) staff and work closely with other program staff to support the child and the group. Observes and provides feedback to the child’s team (Parent/Caregivers, BGCCVI staff, and Child Development Centre) on progress toward goals and existing strategies, and offers input toward new areas of focus. Works as a key member of an integrated staff team that consistently strives for inclusion, excellence, and effective conflict resolution. Maintains effective relationships with parents/caregivers and other stakeholders. Administers first aid and medication in accordance with Club policy, procedures, and licensing regulations. Participates in special promotional activities, programs, or events as required by BGCCVI. Ensures the safety of participants and staff at all times by maintaining the appropriate adult‑to‑child ratio, conducting safety drills, and establishing proper supervision of children and youth. Ensures the program standards, guidelines, and policies of the Boys and Girls Club are maintained and all Community Care Facility Licensing requirements are met. Reports all incidents and injuries via the online incident and injury reporting form. Qualifications Must have completed 20 hours of course hours and/or training focusing on Child Development, Guidance, Health and Safety or Nutrition, or hold a Responsible Adult Certificate. Post‑Secondary training in Child and Youth Care, Recreation, or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience preferred. Valid First Aid Certificate. Class 4 driving licence or willingness to obtain one.
