The RoleIn this position, you will develop, support, and deliver risk assessment and risk management projects throughout Canada. The Senior Risk Assessor will support and mentor employees as a technical resource contributing to contaminated sites projects. You will lead human health and/or ecological risk assessment projects for internal and external clients and play a significant role in developing the Risk Assessment capabilities within the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Guidance and mentoring of the environmental team and collaborating with senior members to enhance risk assessment knowledge.
- Assessment of human and ecological risk, toxicology, and direction on management and mitigation of exposure and remedial measures.
- Managing and executing multiple risk assessment and contaminated sites projects from proposal stage to completion.
- Establishing linkages with other departments and offices to enhance service delivery.
- Limited travel to project sites based on project/client requirements.
- Collaborating with other disciplines to meet project deliverables, quality objectives, schedules, and budgets.
- Pursuing and supporting business opportunities with clients.
- Managing and mentoring junior staff.
- Degree in Environmental Sciences, Toxicology, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, including technical, supervisory, and project management in human and/or environmental risk assessment.
- Demonstrated project management skills (tracking budgets and meeting schedules).
- Preference for registration with a Professional Association or Regulatory body.
- Previous consulting experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working collaboratively with team members.
- Proactive in technical service delivery, with strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience in developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to undergo security clearance checks.
