The responsibility includes all forms of donations, including corporate sponsorships, major and recurring gifts, and planned giving , and encompasses fostering existing donor relationships as well as cultivating new ones to ensure continued support of and engagement with Eden’s mission .The person in this role will spend significant time in face-to-face contact with Eden’s donors and potential donors to build relationships and discuss engagement opportunities, involving regular travel within southern Manitoba and Winnipeg.Performance in this role will be measured by several factors, including number of donor visits made, number of proposals delivered, number of new donors secured, and actual funds raised.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or Non-profit Management is a strong assetCertified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation or other professional designation is an assetPrevious experience working in fundraising or sales is a strong assetKey Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel, PowerPointExperience with fundraising and donor stewardship (identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship).Strong familiarity with people and businesses in Eden’s locations (Winkler, Steinbach, Winnipeg) is a significant asset in this roleInitiative: Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and take independent action is required.Interpersonal Communication: Essential for building rapport with diverse donors, from individuals to corporate representatives, and conveying the organization's mission and impact effectively.Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Necessary for understanding donor motivations, responding sensitively to their needs, and recognizing their contributions genuinely.Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurate record-keeping, personalized acknowledgment processes, and ensuring compliance with donor preferences and legal requirements.Organizational and Time Management Skills: Important for managing multiple donor relationships, coordinating stewardship activities, and meeting deadlines for communicationsWritten Communication and Storytelling: Vital for crafting thank-you letters and donor proposals that articulate the value of their support.Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Needed to address donor inquiries or concerns, navigate unexpected challenges in stewardship plans, and adjust strategies based on donor feedback.Discretion and Confidentiality: Critical for handling sensitive donor information and maintaining trust, especially concerning financial details or personal preferences.Collaboration and Teamwork: Important for working effectively with fundraising, finance, and program teams to ensure a cohesive and impactful donor experience.Technical Skills in the following software tools are considered an asset:Donor Relationship Management Software (e.g., Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT)Email Marketing Platforms (e.g. Campaign Monitor) for donor communicationsDigital Communication Tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) for virtual donor meetingsOther Requirements and Conditions of Employment:Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (with the Vulnerable Sector Check)Satisfactory Child Abuse Registry CheckSatisfactory Adult Abuse Registry CheckValid Driver’s License and use of vehicleCurrent Vehicle Registration, indicating 3rd Party Liability Insurance of $1,000,000 or moreThe successful candidate must be willing to travel throughout Winnipeg and the Southern health region (especially the Pembina Valley and Steinbach regions) on a regular basis. Compensation will be provided on a per-km basis, as well as a fund for hospitality (coffee/lunch with donors or prospective donors).Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement stewardship strategies and plans:Identify individuals and businesses to approachEngage with prospective and existing donors to develop and foster relationshipsCreate and deliver donor proposals, with appropriate follow up for discussion and decision.Thank donors and provide meaningful impact reportsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records to track activities and outcomes against goalsCollaborate closely with program teams to gather information and stories that showcase the impact of supporting Eden. #J-18808-Ljbffr
