OverviewAs a Technician I – Security with Paladin Technologies, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems. You’ll work with experienced technicians to gain hands‑on experience with low‑voltage access control systems, CCTV setups, and pre‑wiring projects. This role requires the ability to properly complete installations, follow the BOM, and find alternative solutions as needed to achieve client satisfaction. ResponsibilitiesAssist in installing and servicing electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms.Perform pre‑wiring, installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber‑optic cables, connectors, and related components.Assist in system design and layout.Provide customers with training for proper system usage and respond to technical inquiries.Build relationships with clients and prospects for future opportunities.Complete administrative duties including project updates to Project Managers and filing all project documentation.Work required night shifts based on project or service requirements.Perform other tasks as required. Required Qualifications1‑3 years of experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry.Proficiency in cable pulling, installation, and basic troubleshooting.Experience with security systems, CCTV, and alarms.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with customers and team members.Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.Ability to work independently.Willingness to work night shifts and flexibility to work day shifts throughout the week. Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry.Post‑secondary training in electronics or equivalent considered an asset.Basic knowledge of low‑voltage systems, CCTV, and pre‑wiring desirable but not required. Professional CompetenciesProper hand and power‑tool operations and safety.Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.Ability to complete projects on time and on budget.Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.Ability to function as an effective team member.Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
