Located in Ontario with multiple sites and a commitment to a diverse, inclusive workplace.LocationOn-site at OPG, DarlingtonYour Day to Day as Project Controls Specialist - Site ProjectsOverall responsibility for monitoring compliance of assigned projects within project controls processes and procedures (BWXT and customer requirements).Review project contracts to ensure invoicing, reporting, change management, project tracking, reporting, and closeout are applied and fulfilled.Perform cost-benefit analyses and recommend competitive solutions.Validate source data and ensure integrity of project coding, budget allocation, resource planning, change controls, and related cost/schedule data.Facilitate performance focus by chairing and directing relevant meetings.Provide commercial support to proposals, including pricing, cash flows, and related analyses.Participate in proposal and estimating efforts to align estimates with baselines.Develop cost baselines and monitor updates against the schedule.Maintain alignment between project schedule, budgets, performance, and related reports/deliverables.Involvement in planning exercises (resource analysis, forecast burndowns, material tracking).Decompose budgets into work breakdown structure for cost tracking and reporting.Prepare baseline budgets to support as-sold work and periodic cost reports (Earned Value) for commercial reporting.Prepare monthly forecasts, accruals, progress, and earned value per customer requirements.Provide detailed analysis of project performance (risks and opportunities) for Project Manager decision-making.Maintain objective view of actual costs, estimates to complete, earned value, and productivity; manage commercial changes and forecasts.Support other commercial exercises and reports (invoicing, vendor POs, cost reports).Develop and maintain periodic project reports (internal and customer-facing) reflecting cost, schedule, KPIs, and key metrics.Incorporate information from around the business into project reports to reflect status accurately.Support Project Managers in regular reporting cycles and generate reports for resource planning and forecasting.Required QualificationsProven ability to lead large, complex projects with budgets over $80M.Strong expertise in project controls, cost management, and risk analysis.Skilled in commercial models, financial analysis, and business acumen, including incentive/disincentive and risk/reward scenarios.Proficient in earned value methodology, performance measurement baselines, and project reporting.Advanced user of Primavera, MS Excel, and project control tools; able to develop and improve templates and processes.Experience in change management, contract administration, and customer engagement.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to present and defend project performance to stakeholders.Post-secondary education and/or 5 years of industry-related experience in nuclear or construction.Strong understanding of PMI PMBOK, AACE practices, and (preferred) nuclear industry projects.Collaborative team player with ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.Security ClearanceThis role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements of CSIS and CNSC, which may take up to 12 months.What We Can Offer YouComprehensive health benefits including health, dental, vision, and disability coverage.Defined contribution pension plan with optional company-matched retirement savings plans.Flexible hybrid schedules and compressed workweek option.Two-tiered Employee Referral Program ($1,500 and $3,000).Educational Refund Plan up to $5,250 USD per year.Professional development, certifications, and growth opportunities.Gym membership discounts and mental health support programs.Diversity, inclusivity, and a welcoming workplace culture.Team-building activities organized by our Social Committee.BWXT confirms that the position represents a current vacancy within our organization. The total compensation package may include additional elements such as an annual incentive and comprehensive benefits.
