Title: FacilitatorDepartment: Vocational Services Reports to: Program Manager Location: Edmonton - Lifemark Vocational Services, Mira ClinicThe Facilitator / Vocational Specialist will provide coaching and support to job seekers returning to the workforce. In collaboration with the team, the Facilitator / Vocational Specialist will assist in individualized job search support services, job placement services, and workshop delivery. The Facilitator / Vocational Specialist will deliver a number of different training components including skills for success, computer training, job search preparation, and career and employment services related topics.ResponsibilitiesFacilitate delivery of workshops and training in-person and onlineConduct vocational assessments with participants to determine employment history, transferrable skills, education and past work or volunteer experienceAssess and enhance job readiness by identifying challenges, employment barriers and assistance they may need to gain meaningful employmentSupport participants in completing resumes and cover letters and preparing for job interviewsPrepare participants for active job search activitiesProvide group and 1:1 feedback and coaching in the areas of resume writing, cover letter, and job interview preparationMonitor and maintain participant filesAssist with content development, updates, and improvementsComplete tracking and reporting in accordance with current templates, guides, standards and processesMinimum QualificationsCompletion of University or technical training in a related field or equivalent experience or combination of experience and education1-3 years of experience with facilitating or instructing a group both virtually and in-personExperience delivering career and employment services workshops to job seekersExcellent written and oral communicationSensitivity to learning limitations that may be present with participantsIntermediate to advanced computer skillsComfortable with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, as well as key job search sites including Glassdoor, Indeed , CareerBuilder for job searching and applicationsAbility to lesson plan for multiple levels of learning across various ages and abilitiesTeamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to change tasks quickly and seamlesslyStrong understanding of the local labour marketAn excellent understanding and appreciation of cultural diversitySecurity/background check is requiredInclusionWe are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can thrive.
