We are seeking a talented Welder who is passionate about innovation and, within their field of expertise, enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team, while being committed to helping us become a leader in our industry.Work Arrangement: OnsiteShift: Afternoon (Mon - Thurs, 4 pm - 2 am)Work Location: 90 Belfield Rd., Etobicoke M9W 1G4As a Welder, you will:Read blueprints and welding drawings, and take or read measurements to plan layout and proceduresDetermine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirementsSet up components, fixtures and equipment for welding according to specificationsAlign components using callipers, rulers, etc. and clamp pieces to lay pieces, parts to achieve the desired resultMIG welding of componentsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws and ensure that they meet S&C quality standardsOperate an overhead or Jib crane to move parts and products in a safe mannerClean and deburr finished weldments and inspect for weld quality and completenessWe are looking for someone who has:High School Diploma. A diploma or an Apprenticeship in welding is considered an assetMinimum 2-3 years of experience welding and setting up welding equipmentExperience with MIG weldingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents or welding process specificationsKnowledge of basic math and the ability to do calculations using fractions and decimalsAbility to weld different materials and gauge sizes, such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminumA team player with good communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionIn return, we will provide you with:a safe and fun working environment where we celebrate our milestonesa competitive compensationOpportunity to learn new skills and valuable work experienceThese are just some of the other reasons why S&C is a great place to work.
