OverviewJoin to apply for the Lead Strategy Analyst, Risk role at FreshBooks.As a Lead Strategy Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping FreshBooks’ financial risk strategy across credit, fraud, and operational risk. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams to design frameworks, build models, and guide policies that influence enterprise-level decisions and long-term business resilience. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, bringing clarity and influence through data-driven insights, forecasting, and strategic guidance.Note: This is a hybrid role, meaning the team comes together in our Downtown Toronto office up to twice a week.What You’ll DoProvide strategic and analytical leadership to develop and refine FreshBooks’ financial risk strategy across credit, fraud, and operational riskBuild and manage models to evaluate credit risk, fraud detection, and operational risk using internal and external dataLead forecasting and reporting for transaction losses, stress-testing, and delinquency trends to align with financial planningPartner cross-functionally to operationalize risk frameworks, policies, and decisioning systems that balance growth and complianceDesign dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance, loss rates, and profitability, and present insights to senior leadershipIdentify emerging risks and recommend proactive mitigation strategiesGuide and support junior analysts, sharing best practices and reinforcing alignment across the teamWhat You’ll BringA passion for building scalable systems that empower small businesses8+ years of experience in analytics or strategy within fintech, payments, lending, or financial servicesStrong understanding of financial and operational drivers in SaaS or fintech, and how risk decisions impact growth and profitabilityProven experience influencing executive-level strategy and driving initiatives with measurable business impactSolid knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in credit, fraud, and operational risk managementDemonstrated expertise in designing and implementing risk frameworks that scale while balancing compliance and customer experienceStrong SQL skills and technical aptitude to design data-driven, tech-enabled solutionsTrack record of leading cross-functional projects and introducing new risk policies, tools, or systems at scaleYou’ll Stand Out If You HaveExperience with third-party data and decisioning platforms (e.g., Plaid, Stripe)Proficiency with tools such as Python, Mode, Looker, or TableauAbout FreshBooksFreshBooks is a leading cloud-based SaaS accounting software platform built for small business owners and consistently ranks #1 easiest to use.
