OverviewRio Tinto Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, CanadaJoin to apply for the Mine Engineer (Pit Development) role at Rio Tinto.Find better ways to provide the materials the world needs.ResponsibilitiesCreate waste dump lift designs for the 2-week and quarterly planning time horizonsCreate and manage auxiliary tasks list and pattern prep sheets to meet objectives in the 2-week planGenerate and maintain elevation design files for machine guidance systemsMaintain the downhill haulage register and ensure ramp conformance through design and documentationGenerate weekly conformance reports for waste dumps and haul truck cycle timesReconcile drill pattern availability and escalate deviations in the Plan of the Day (PLOD) meetingsSupport in-pit dewatering planning on the 2-week plan horizonGenerate and present blast event plans to optimize equipment downtime, minimize cable runs, and expedite post-blast recoveryCreate designs to support infrastructure development, including HME haul roads, light vehicle roads and power distribution related earthworksSupport the Quarterly Planner with minor pit and dump design changes when requiredThis permanent position will be offered on a fly in, fly out work roster of 2 weeks on site and 2 weeks off, out of St. John’s or Montreal.
