**Our Team**

Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations are an integrated mining, milling, and processing operation. Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey’s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.

The Underground Fixed Plant Maintenance team consists of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation journeypersons and apprentice trades, engineers and planners. The team is responsible for maintaining all fixed assets throughout the Eastern Deeps and Reid Brook Mines. This includes dewatering pumps, ventilation equipment, portable refuge stations, 13.8kV/1000V/600V power distribution equipment and bulk material handling systems. The team is also integrated into the U/G mine development cycle by supporting power, ventilation, dewatering, LTE and communications installations as the mines advance.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking an **Underground** **Electrical Maintenance Supervisor** to join our **Underground Fixed Plant Maintenance **department in **Voisey’s Bay, NL**. This is a permanent position.

**_ This position is based at the Voisey’s Bay mine site in Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. This position is on a two week on, two week off rotation_**_._**

Reporting to the Underground Fixed Plant Maintenance Superintendent, the Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing the day-to-day safe work of maintenance personnel and being the conduit between Operations, Planning, and work execution. Moreover, the Underground Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for creating a work environment that motivates tradespeople to achieve world class performance within the underground mine facilities. Additionally, in this position, you will:

- Ensure planned work is safely and effectively executed thin the schedule.
- Work closely with Operations personnel to execute the right work at the right time.
- Execute work in support of the Safety Health Environment Management System.
- Ensure compliance with all legislated standards, company policies and practices.
- Foster a climate of safe production, mutual trust, and respect among all members of their team.
- Execute area annual plans, mitigates impact of upsets.
- Control the consumptions of materials and supplies for the crew: including temporary employees and contractors.
- Work within budget, guidelines and standards in place as well as participate in refresh of these standards.
- Manage area zone maintenance in conjunction with operations to establish priorities and timelines.
- Ability to hold team members respectfully accountable for their performance regarding safety, housekeeping, work standards and professionalism.
- Co-ordinate work activity.
- Lead the crew to create an interactive workplace environment aligned with a WCW.
- Focus on achieving the daily and weekly work plans and contribute to the development of monthly and quarterly plans.
- Identify and manage an occupational training plan to meet the needs of the area.
- Provide effective care, maintenance and utilization of assets.
- Supervise, plan and coordinate the maintenance work components.
- Ensure all work orders are closed with completion codes and comments for future analysis.
- Work collaterally and cross functionally, with colleagues, engineering, production, and services to achieve work objectives.

**About You**

**Education**:

- College diploma in an Electrical trade.
- An Interprovincial Red Seal in an Electrical trade is required.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 5-7 years’ journeyperson experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Previous mining experience is required, with underground mining experience being an asset.
- Previous supervisory experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment would be an asset.
- Experience with SAP.

**Skills**:

- Knowledge of cost and budget processes.

- Knowledgeable of a professional discipline or related process and people issues.
