The Opportunity Full‑time (40 hrs/wk) Head Building Operator IV position starting immediately at Heloise Lorimer School and R.J. Hawkey Elementary School. Responsibilities Lead a caretaking team to maintain building, grounds, contents, and furnishings in good appearance and sanitary condition. Develop and oversee a duty schedule ensuring facility maintenance aligns with RVS service levels. Perform minor maintenance duties and manage security of facilities and building systems. Report any defects, damages, or loss to the Principal. Evaluate caretaking staff under supervision. Maintain building temperature during the school day. Review annual duty schedule with Supervisor of Caretaking and Principal. Order caretaking supplies, equipment, and materials. Coordinate cleaning duties with Community Use Supervisors as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 3‑5 years supervisory experience, preferably in caretaking. 1‑3 years experience with building management systems. 5+ years caretaking/cleaning experience. Valid Alberta operator’s license (class 5). Valid Building Operator A or B Ticket or 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate. Cleaning organization certifications (asset). Previous school division experience (asset). Knowledge & Skills Advanced knowledge of proper cleaning procedures. Working knowledge of heating and mechanical systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective supervisory skills, including training and delegating. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and web‑based applications. Benefits 3 weeks vacation.
