We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our team in our Vancouver office As a Senior Underwriter, you will act as a key liaison between TSW and our broker partners. You will be responsible for developing and growing complex commercial risks and business by writing new business, managing a renewal portfolio and providing in-person consultations, and represent TSW at broker meetings, industry events, and client presentations while maintaining profitability, and delivering exceptional response time. Your day as a Senior Underwriter Underwrite complex commercial P&C risks with a focus on profitability and compliance Provide mentorship and technical support to peers Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored insurance solutions Evaluate risks and make underwriting decisions based on company guidelines, risk appetite, and pricing strategies. Develop and maintain relationships with broker and clients, providing exceptional customer service and delivering value-added solutions. Manage the submission, quoting, and binding processes for new and renewal business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness. Collaborate with other underwriters, brokers, and internal teams to drive profitable growth and achieve assigned monthly sales goals. Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements. Analyze market trends and broker feedback to identify new business opportunities and develop marketing strategies to attract new business. Proficiency in data analysis and Excel. Experience in data visualization tools; an asset. 5 to 10 years of experience in commercial P&C underwriting with a strong grasp of casualty. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven record of accomplishment of underwriting profitability and growth targets. Proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships. Interest and ability in travelling locally for broker meetings and events. Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Effective time management and organizational skills.
