This role balances the need for successful and consistent execution goals with mentorship and developing a highly motivated team of engineers in a fast-paced environment. While we're a startup, we're not looking to build a hero/crunch culture and the only way to do that is to nail planning and execution - we'd love to hear how you've helped your teams here This is not a coding role but you'll be working with your team(s) to ensure high technical quality, high product quality, a pragmatic technical approach as well as making our customers happyWhat You’ll DoCollaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering Leadership peers and your team to build services and platforms foundational to our virtual agent platformRun a well organized team:Create and foster a shared mission that drives your team toward a common goalManage and prioritize work through a rigorous, yet lightweight, agile processProvide mentorship, feedback and guidance for your team members through the creation of individualized growth plans and measurable goals.Use your technical expertise to provide leadership and oversight of projects on your teamGuiding architecture/design decisionsProvide thorough and thoughtful code reviewsOccasionally commit some code on non-critical path projectsBuild and support a collaborative working culture in a remote-first environmentWhat You BringYou have 2+ years of experience leading remote software engineering teamsYou're used to ownership and accountability and have driven the execution of high-value projects end-to-endYou have a strong background delivering foundational services with a mix of external and internal customer stakeholdersYou have excellent planning and communication skills and a vivid imagination. You’ve been able to translate abstract ideas into meaningful and incremental plans that your team can align onYou’re here to grow your team. The day-to-day is more than just tickets and you can speak to a well-established process for growth as well as the promotions you’ve championedA passion for making data driven leadership and product decisions. You know your way around JIRA, Sheets and other tools and carve out the data you need to help inform key decisionsA passion for increasing team velocity, predictability and satisfaction by implementing and coaching development processes, like Agile, TDD, etcExperience in Agile (Scrum) methodologies and ceremonies.
