Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)

Position: Treasurer for Hitachi Rail GTS Canada

As the Treasurer, you will work closely with the VP Finance of NORAM and GTS Global Treasury Lead of GTS (based in Europe). You will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of the GTS companies in Canada and the USA, as well as providing strategic oversight for our global operations. This challenging yet rewarding position requires an experienced finance professional who can navigate complex international financial landscapes, optimize liquidity, and enhance our cash culture. li>Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.Evaluate and recommend banking relationships and services to support the company's financial objectives.Assist in the implementation of Cash Pooling and Treasury Management Systems (TMS) in line with Group Guidelines.Financial Risk Assessment:
  1. Conduct ongoing assessments of financial risks, including currency risk, interest rate risk, and other market exposures.
  2. Implement risk mitigation strategies and financial instruments to safeguard the company against adverse market conditions.
  3. Provide support to the accounting team on matters related to Hedge Accounting.
Continuous Improvement:
  1. Identify opportunities for process improvement within the treasury function.
  2. Collaborate with the Head of Treasury - GTS to implement group policies and strategies.
Compliance:
  1. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  2. Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and proactively adjust policies and procedures accordingly.
Enhancing Cash Culture:
  1. Foster a cash-conscious culture within the organization by providing training and guidance to relevant teams.
Key Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  2. 3 to 5 years of experience in treasury management, with a focus on international operations.
  3. Strong understanding of cash management, financial risk assessment, and compliance requirements.
  4. Relevant certifications, such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or similar.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. MBA or relevant professional qualification is a plus.
