We currently have an opportunity for a Full Time Medical Laboratory Technologist in the Histology/Cytology lab.FT 8 Hours - Monday – Saturday Days & Evenings, 7.5 hour shifts (hours may change/vary due to operational need)
Home base is Histology. p>How Medical Laboratory Technologist support our teams at Grand River Hospital: The MLT performs and is responsible for a variety of laboratory tests and procedures while acting in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values of the Hospital and expectations within the Medical Laboratory Program.With an initiative to cross-develop staff coinciding with full-time opportunities, the successful applicant to this posting will be assigned Histology as a home unit with cross-development and work in Cytology. The MLT may be involved in all aspects of the Anatomical Pathology department, and the composition of such work may be modified from time to time. Participate in the departments Quality Assurance Program and Accreditation compliance plans. p>At Grand River Hospital, the Medical Laboratory Technologist: Current registration with the CMLTO – Cytology & Histology;Certification with CSMLS – Cytology & Histology;Recent Histology and Cytology experience required;Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems;Consult with peers, senior, manager or Pathologist when appropriate relative to Laboratory testing and tasks;Communicates effectively with physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel – includes basic interpretation of laboratory test results and explanations of limitations of the test procedure.At Grand River Hospital we support our Team Members with: Ongoing training and development opportunities As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, Grand River Hospital requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.Grand River Hospital is committed to fair and equitable employment and in our recruitment and selection practices.
