Senior Supply Chain Specialist - Electronics & Automation Vention is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to oversee sourcing, supplier management, and material planning for electrical and electronic components used in our automation systems (e.g., sensors, PCBs, harnesses, motors, control modules). This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and drives the strategic alignment of procurement, inventory, and NPI support with engineering and manufacturing objectives. You will lead a team of buyers and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and scalable supply chains. This position combines category expertise, data-driven decision-making, and supplier development to optimize quality, cost, and delivery performance across the electronics and automation value stream. Responsibilities Lead sourcing and procurement for electrical, electronic, and automation components (PCBs, harnesses, sensors, controllers, motors). Develop and execute category strategies to optimize cost, lead time, and supplier quality performance. Collaborate with Engineering on NPI and DFM initiatives to ensure manufacturability, cost, and supply readiness for new products. Manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, risk assessments, and strategic sourcing initiatives. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long-term supply agreements to support Vention’s growth objectives. Oversee ERP/MRP planning processes to ensure accurate material master data, lead times, and inventory visibility. Work with Quality and Engineering to manage supplier qualification, PPAP/FAI processes, and compliance documentation. Monitor market trends in electronics, automation, and semiconductor industries to anticipate risks and opportunities. Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Mentor and develop junior buyers or specialists, fostering a culture of operational excellence and professional growth. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree or specialization in Supply Chain is an asset. 3-4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain leadership roles focused on electrical, electronic, or automation components. Strong understanding of electronic assemblies, PCBs, sensors, wiring harnesses, motors, and industrial control systems. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics tools; experience with SAP or Odoo preferred. Proven leadership, negotiation, and supplier management skills in a global manufacturing context. Experience supporting NPI and applying DFM principles for electronic or mechatronic systems. Demonstrated success in supplier development, risk management, and cost reduction initiatives. Knowledge of Lean, ISO, or quality-driven manufacturing environments. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with cross-functional collaboration experience.
