Solving these challenges is critical to enabling efficient hybrid teams as well as external globally distributed development partners who help scale during peak phases of development. At The Coalition Studio, through our work on the acclaimed Gears of War franchise, we are tackling these problems head-on by leading engine innovation, developing technical showcase technologies, and delivering world-class workflows, tools and features that are adopted across the wider Xbox Game Studios organization.

Machine Learning as a focus area has experienced significant growth over the past few years, and it has been exciting to see so many ways in which it can be applied to games development. The Coalition is looking to hire a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the team responsible for exploring these areas of research and directly applying them to impact our game development process. We

directly support the team by finding ways to improve developer efficiency, allowing our game designers, animators and engineers to focus on what they do best. Some areas we are exploring are generative animations, automated testing using reinforcement learning agents, and multi-modal language models. This candidate can wear many hats and is comfortable diving into different technology stacks, including languages like Python, C#, C++, and Rust.
