Implementation Advisor, Government of Nunavut. Salary: $121,022 to $137,300 per year; 37.5 hours per week. Northern Allowance: $16,008 per year. Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager Policy, the Implementation Advisor provides objective analysis and advice on policy initiatives and Requests for Decision (RFD) to cabinet, focusing on the Government of Nunavut’s obligations to implement the Nunavut Agreement. The role advises and supports managers across departments on programs, policy, planning and legislative initiatives; ensures cabinet advice is consistent with GN’s goals, objectives, priorities and management principles; monitors compliance with Cabinet, Financial Management Board direction and governing authorities, including legislation, regulations, policies and government mandate. Qualifications The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized undergraduate degree in public administration, social sciences, business administration, Indigenous Studies, law or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience developing and analyzing public policy, programs, and systems in a large organization or government setting. Fluency in Inuktut is considered an asset. This is a Position of Trust, and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
