Senior Analyst, Investment Data Solutions

A dynamic and results-driven Senior Analyst is required to join our team within Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM). This role will be instrumental in building and establishing a business-focused investment data management practice, as well as participating in the design and implementation of key data quality controls within the Investment Data Hub (IDH) platform.
This exciting opportunity involves working closely with business and technology partners across SGAM on new data and reporting initiatives, and delivering data quality enhancements. The ideal candidate will have a passion for driving results and improving processes in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver and maintain accurate, complete and timely investment data sets in the IDH by proactively identifying and correcting data quality issues and responding to data or reporting enquiries.
- Provide first-line support for relevant data enquiries and ensure support requests are handled promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate with technical support teams from Scotia Global Wealth Engineering (GWE) and vendors to resolve production and data issues.
- Contribute to defining governance strategies and creating related standards, policies and procedures for IDS to support enterprise data frameworks and best practices.
- Participate in daily Markit EDM operational tasks to ensure data quality and completeness.
- Assist in the implementation and testing of scheduled system releases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SQL queries.
- Experience with core investment data domains (e.g. positions, security reference, pricing and benchmarks).
- Knowledge of Markit EDM, or similar application, and/or Bloomberg is an asset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to develop positive relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
