About Castlemain Castlemain is a communications and engagement firm specializing in Indigenous settlements. Our team is dedicated to providing trauma‑informed, culturally safe communications and community support programs. The First Nations Child and Family Services and Jordan’s Principle Settlement is aimed at compensating those harmed by discriminatory underfunding of the First Nations Child and Family Services Program, as well as those impacted by the federal government’s narrow interpretation of Jordan’s Principle. The Settlement Agreement was approved by the Federal Court on October 23, 2023. Responsibilities Distribute all benefits enrollment materials and determine eligibility. Administer day‑to‑day benefits plans including changes and terminations. Ensure accuracy of all benefit enrollments to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Assist with questions regarding benefit claims, plan changes, leaves and accommodations. Assist Benefits Lead in obtaining information for the renewal process of any benefit program. Accurately manage HRIS, assuring compliance and confidentiality. Act as main point of contact and lead the end‑to‑end process for any leave requests, accommodations, and return‑to‑work programs as required in Castlemain. Prepare pre‑boarding paperwork required to place new hires on payroll and set up employee profile in HRIS. Assist with orientation to support a positive experience for new hires. Keep records up‑to‑date in HRIS by processing changes in a timely manner. Process new‑hire, status change, and termination paperwork. Qualifications Minimum five years’ experience in HR/People related roles focused on benefits, leaves, and accommodations. Successful background check. Extensive knowledge of benefits, leaves, and accommodations processes and management. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; track record working with staff at all levels. Strong teamwork orientation and collaboration skills. High level of critical, logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning skills. Adherence to company policies, procedures, and practices. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. High integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. Solid knowledge of Canada Labour Code, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, and related legislation. Work Conditions Use of desktop computer and peripherals. Tight deadlines. Hybrid work model: Attend the office closest to your location within a 45 km radius 3 days per week. Outside this radius, attend functions when possible. Application Deadline Open until filled.
