The BMO A&D Advisory team is highly experienced and has executed numerous asset and corporate mandates for domestic and international clients across all areas of Western Canada and across various jurisdictions. MANDATE Reporting to the Managing Director and Head, A&D Advisory, within the BMO Capital Markets Investment Banking Energy Group, the “Investment Banking Analyst, A&D Engineer” role is responsible for completing, coordinating, and leading detailed technical analysis including the integration of engineering, geological and financial information, and will work on a blend of divestiture, acquisition, and merger mandates. The successful candidate must be flexible, adaptable, and capable of working in a high-pace environment where multitasking different priorities is essential. As an energetic self-starter, you also have exceptional interpersonal/communication skills, enjoy a challenge, and thrive in a team environment This role provides a combination of deep industry sector expertise, innovative thinking in a team-based approach and world-class execution across a full suite of products to clients through an integrated Capital Markets platform using a sector ecosystem approach. Collaborates to generate creative, client-focused solutions to prospective and current clients. Key Accountabilities Play a key role in the execution and completion of technical evaluations, economic performance analysis, reservoir and asset descriptions, upside identification and other interpretation related outputs. Assist in generating and presenting pitch materials and management presentations. Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or process efficiencies. Develop analysis and project execution strategies and make recommendations based on an understanding of business fundamentals and stakeholder needs. Drive client solutions through team collaboration, technical knowledge, and economic analysis. Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Consider risk, internal controls, and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adhere to policies and procedures. Qualifications Education Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering P.Eng. designation with APEGA, or EIT membership in process (or eligibility to register) Experience 2-6 years combined reservoir, exploitation and/or production engineering background Investment banking experience considered an asset or other experience in acquisition and divesture evaluations including in business development or corporate development roles within E&P Direct experience in exploiting and evaluating resource oil and gas plays or experience in heavy oil / thermal operations In-depth reservoir technical experience as well as the ability to apply economic evaluation principles including production performance and decline analysis, type curve and inventory analysis, understanding key cost and economic drivers leading to full scale development planning and play commercialization concepts Significant experience with reserves software (preferably Val Nav, but others considered an asset also) Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Point Skills or familiarity in building complex financial models. Skills or familiarity in creating sector specific statistical analysis using analytics packages such as Enverus, Spotfire, etc. Any programming experience supporting automation and selected data analytics techniques applicable to the energy industry is considered a strong asset, including but not limited to languages such as Python, R, Microsoft VBA, etc. Experience with automated play forecasting, auto-decline algorithms, and the application of data science into reservoir engineering workflows in the form of multi-variate play analysis and more advanced machine-learning analysis techniques will be considered differentiating, with incremental growth potential to an evolving role within the team in both engineering and data science Expected Base Salary: $100,000.00 CAD About Us At BMO we are driven by a shared Purpose: Boldly Grow the Good in business and life.
