What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets is seeking an experienced Associate to join its Global Energy Investment Banking Team. The Global Energy Investment Banking Team provides corporate finance and advisory services to leading global energy clients. This position is a unique opportunity to develop a broad financial skillset and gain exposure to an evolving industry that must responsibly meet society's growing demand for energy. This role is intended for individuals who wish to build a long term career in Investment Banking with a market leading franchise and global platform.

What will you do?

• Lead the execution of equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory assignments

• Develop and hone an analytical skillset through real world transaction experience

• Gain exposure and insight into the global capital markets

• Work directly with senior levels of Canada's largest companies

• Build a long term career in Investment Banking

What do you need to succeed?

• Minimum of two (2) years of investment banking, private equity, equity research, corporate development or accounting experience

• Desire to develop a leaderships skillset and make meaningful contributions in a fast-paced, team environment

• Financial modeling and valuation experience

• Prior M&A and financing transaction execution experience

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Undergraduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a quantitative field from a leading university

• CFA, CPA, P.Eng. or other relevant professional designations are considered an asset but not a requirement
