About The JobReporting to the Director of Transitional Housing, the Building Manager at the alex will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the Alex building in alignment with Atira’s mission, vision, values, and all legal and contractual requirements. The role includes supervising front‑line staff, maintaining high standards of feminist, anti‑oppression, and decolonization theory and practice, coordinating with the facilities team on maintenance schedules, and collaborating with contractors during site visits and unit inspections. You possess a deep commitment to anti‑oppression work and intersectionality, understand the impact of colonialism and the residential school system in Canada, and can work effectively within a harm reduction environment. Requirements & AssetsA minimum of five years of managing experience in the Women’s sector or a related field.Lived expertise will be considered.Master’s Degree in Social Work or a relevant field preferred; an undergraduate degree with relevant experience will be considered.NVCI Certification required.First Aid certification required.All positions subject to a criminal records review (paid by Atira).COVID‑19 and annual flu vaccinations recommended.A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a vehicle while on shift required.Experience must be in progressively senior roles, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
