They are looking for a Director of Software Development (Growth) to lead multiple teams across Web + Mobile development. This role involves working closely with software developers to enhance company culture, provide people leadership, and drive team performance. Directors will also manage strategic projects and facilitate organizational change, empowering you to turn ideas into actionable plans that shape the future of our engineering department. You would be overseeing roughly 20 engineers split across a few different squads and reporting into the VP of Engineering.

  1. Building: Enhance our engineering organization by recruiting, retaining, and coaching talent, while aligning efforts with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
  2. Motivating: Inspire teams through goal-setting and clear expectations, helping them navigate the fast-paced environment while holding them accountable for excellence.
  3. Iterating: Act as a change agent to continuously evolve engineering practices, improving the quality, stability, and efficiency of software delivery.

Breakdown of Role:
  1. 50% - Overseeing overall delivery of their teams and products - Process, Stand-ups, Sprints, Efficiency, Collaboration across organization
  2. 30% - Managing individuals on your teams - coaching, mentorship, 1 on 1's, career growth etc
  3. 10% - Innovation of new tools, new processes, improving efficiency etc
  4. 10% - Hiring and growing your teams

This role is local to Calgary, and in-office.

Must Have Skills:

  1. Proven Experience as a Manager or Director of at least 2 years, ideally more

  4. Experience building high performance teams through recruiting, hiring and retaining
