Temporary Full-Time Occupational TherapistThe Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position: Temporary Full-Time Occupational Therapist. Reporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation Services, the Occupational Therapist applies a broad range of clinical skills to assess, treat, and support patients through their recovery journey. You will be part of a collaborative Rehabilitation team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehab assistants, and kinesiologists who provide inpatient, outpatient, home care, and Family Health Team program support. This role focuses on maximizing independence, promoting safe transitions, and enhancing overall quality of life, while working closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.ResponsibilitiesHome care adult caseload, and inpatients as required.Performing clinical assessments and appropriate interventions in the adult population in their homes.Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to provide care and successful planning for patients to remain as independent as possibleAssessments for mobility devices, wheelchair prescription, home safety assessments, bathroom safety assessments, bathroom equipment recommendations, falls prevention teaching, kitchen assessments, cognitive assessmentsProvide recommendations for managing changes in cognition, patient and family/care giver educationQualificationsBachelors or Master's Degree in Occupational TherapyRegistration, or eligibility for Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of OntarioPreference given to applicants who are Registered Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Authorizers in the Ambulation Aids, Wheelchair and Positioning Devices/Seating categoriesMust possess a valid driver's licenseDemonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge in problem solving and troubleshootingAbility to communicate clearly, teach, problem solve and organizeFlexibility and willingness to work as part of teamEffective organizational and written skillsProficient computer skillsAble to work and manage a case load independently and with other multi-disciplinary team membersDemonstrates behaviours consistent with the Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct, Standards of Behaviour and with the DRHC Core Values; Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and RespectProof of Covid-19 vaccinationThe Dryden Regional Health Centre recognizes that it is situated on lands of the Metis and Anishnaabe peoples of Migisi Sahgaigan, Wabigoon, and Wabauskang First Nations.
