Our team of over 130 dedicated expertsincluding engineers, trainees, technologists, planners, and support staffthrives in an energetic environment where creativity and collaboration are at the forefront.If you're eager to grow and make an impact, this is the place for youKey Responsibilities:Meet with Design Leads & Project Leads to develop conceptual designs (e.g. redline meetings), identify potential design issues and applicable codesPrepare, assist with, and/or review design briefs, drawings, and specificationsAssist and/or review equipment design costs and comparisonsServe as a technical advisor to the project teamConduct engineering reviews for accuracy, adequacy, and code compliance; seal your own work and that of team membersEnsure timely, on-budget project delivery; set milestones and perform progress reviewsIssue alternative design solutions and respond to permit commentsAssist with project hand-off to Construction Services team, including review of verification requirements and critical itemsProvide construction support and perform site reviews as neededReview site reports, provide feedback on noted observations/deficienciesPerform project verification and prepare occupancy lettersConduct site visits to verify systems are installed and operating per specificationsCommunicate with clients, other engineering disciplines, contractors, manufacturers, and stakeholdersMentor and support junior team membersAssist with the continuous development and improvement of mechanical design standardsPerform other duties as assigned by the Mechanical Division Manager or team membersSkills / Qualifications:Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian University (or equivalent)Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering related to HVAC & plumbing in constructionStrong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., OBC, CSA, ASHRAE)Experience with mechanical systems in multi-unit residential buildings or similar projectsExperience working with private sector developers is an assetProficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCADExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEffective team builder and mentorCommitted to professional and personal developmentDetail-oriented and highly organizedAble to manage and/or lead multiple projects at different stagesAdaptable and proactive in a team environmentWhat We Offer:This is a full-time, in-office position.
