Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Lead (Contract)JUST HR – Kamloops, British Columbia, CanadaJUST HR is recruiting for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Lead to support daily construction activities on a large‑scale industrial project in British Columbia. This role is critical to ensuring that structural steel erection, concrete work, and other heavy construction tasks are executed safely and in compliance with provincial regulations. Working a rotational schedule at a remote site, the successful candidate will be a hands‑on safety leader who collaborates with contractors and operations teams to uphold high safety standards.ResponsibilitiesMonitor construction activities daily, ensuring safe work practices and compliance with proceduresAttend and contribute to shift handovers, safety meetings, and permit‑to‑work planning sessionsLead and participate in risk assessments and job safety analyses for critical activitiesReview and audit daily safety checklists, permits, and work execution in the fieldInspect work areas for hazards, verify safety controls, and support ongoing safety improvementsCoordinate with operations HSE staff to maintain alignment across departmentsSupport incident investigations, reporting, and documentationProvide mentorship and guidance to junior safety personnel and permit coordinatorsEnsure effective communication during shift and crew changesRequirements5–10 years of experience in health and safety within heavy industrial constructionExperience with structural steel erection and concrete work is essentialProven understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly BC provincial legislationPrevious work on large industrial projects in British Columbia is strongly preferredStrong leadership, communication, and risk management skillsAble to thrive in a rotational, remote‑site environmentProficient with Microsoft Office and safety reporting toolsValid driver’s license and clean driving recordPreference will be given to candidates residing in or near Kamloops, BCRemunerationHourly contract rate: $65–$85 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.Only candidates eligible to work in Canada will be considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
