Our Client is the leading provider of full-service back-up and recovery technology and has engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to help them recruit a Contract Senior Java Developer. ROSS is a team of People Specialists helping companies align their People Strategy with their business growth. We provide remote or onsite HR and Recruitment solutions such as Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Recruitment Augmentation.This is a 6 Month Contract located in GTA - WEST.What you need to have:7+ years of hands-on, practical software development experience5+ years’ experience with Java (including JNI)Experience writing multi-threaded and/or multi-process codeWhat you will be doing:Drive the product line in terms of innovation and qualityParticipate in team meetings to design and estimate development storiesParticipate in code reviews and pair programming activitiesCollaborate with others on approaches to solve tasksBuild solid products with clean, well-designed, unit tested codeUse cutting-edge development techniques, including TTDIt would be nice if you also had:2+ years’ experience with Hadoop technologies (including Pig, HDFS, HIVE, NoSql)5+ years’ experience with C++ (including boost and STL)5+ years’ experience with multi-platform development Windows/LinuxA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalentStrong English written and oral communication skillsMust be self-motivatedStrong unit testing software skills/experienceA passion for keeping up with new technologiesVery solid personal organizational and prioritization skillsIf you're not interested, but know someone who is, please help a current or former colleague in their career development by referring them.
