As an intern or co-op student through our EXCEL (Exploring Careers through Experiential Learning) Program you will gain hands-on career specific experiences to maximize your real world potential.The RoleIn the role of CCA (Customer, Care & Aftersales) Manufacturing Engineering Co-op based out of Oshawa Assembly Plant, you will get the chance to procure, manage, install, and validate capital and operating projects Projects range from process improvements, innovation, automation, AI to new equipment with a focus on safety, cost, and schedule. Also, you will initiate, and support process improvements related to the assembly process in your assigned area You will perform troubleshooting of various equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and implement projects related to innovation, productivity, automation and AI (artificial intelligence)Develop a proactive safety culture by engaging team members and peers in our safety processesUnderstood and effective use of Global Manufacturing SystemRespond to Production needs, and requests for CIReview details with maintenance and production of any issues over previous shiftsCreate general shopping carts for small projectsParticipate in weekend and shutdown work planning meetingsReview safety significant events, and safety messagesReview shift notesCompliance training - Hot Work, Confined Space, First Aid CPR, Rigging, and Electrical Safe Work PracticesIdentify ways to eliminate waste in the areas of quality, scrap, uptime, energy, etc.Support Global Manufacturing System standards including Maintenance Level 4/5 Board, Business Plan Deployment, and Workplace OrganizationReport near missesQualificationsPursuit of a Bachelor\'s (3rd or 4th year) or Master\'s degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechatronics, Controls, Systems, Automotive, MaterialsEligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada and for and 8 or 12 month term starting Winter 2026Willing to work in a plant environment and flexible working hours (shift work, weekends, and overtime to meet business needs)Preferred QualificationsPrior manufacturing experience, knowledge of production environments, and in automotive industry are considered assetsPrevious supervisory, or team leading experienceDesired SkillsOutstanding leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audienceHigh level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directedEvidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trustConsistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centricExcellent project management skills and the proven track record to manage numerous projects at any givenPossess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsFundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPointSponsorship and NotesPLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU DO NOT NEED SPONSORSHIP TO WORK IN CANADA NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.
