Insight Global is looking for a Controls System PLC Programmer to join a leading automation company. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing automation solutions in a 3 phase process. Phase 1 involves designing and developing Allen Bradley PLC software programs with the use of Allen Bradley Servo Motion to fit the specific requirements of their client. In phase 2, the candidate will be responsible for integrating their designs into the machines on the shop floor and performing all testing/debugging to ensure the program runs accordingly. The final phase requires tearing down the machine to be shipped to the customer site, and traveling to the desired location for reconstruction (3 weeks min). The successful candidate will be required to come into the Cambridge location 5 days per week.

Required Skills & Experience
  1. 6+ years of relevant experience in the field (PLC, AB, Siemens)
  2. Must have basic ABB Robot experience (at least 1 year and able to integrate a robot with existing code)
  3. Able to travel 3-6 weeks during the contract outside of Canada (US, Europe)
  4. Flexible - overtime and weekend work occasionally required
  5. Strong written and oral communication with a self-starter attitude
  6. Post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering
Compensation

This range is provided by Insight Global. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Base pay range: CA$40.00/hr - CA$55.00/hr.
