The Sonographer participates in the training of other Registered Technologists, Students, and Residents as required. The incumbent provides diagnostic quality images using accepted protocol; discusses exams with Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician, accurately utilizes PACS, video and recorded information; maintains accurate patient files; records appropriate and timely information in the computer; maintains a professional attitude; and practices good patient care at all times.Hours of Work7.5 hrs, 08:30 – 16:30 / 09:00 – 17:00, Monday‑FridayYour QualificationsGraduate of a recognized school of imaging technology required.Registered or eligible to be registered with NSCMIRTP and/or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) required.Member of the Sonography Canada required.Must have, and continue to maintain, registry status by obtaining the required continual medical education credits (CME) every three years.Experience in obstetrics preferred.Preceptor experience preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.Competencies in other languages an asset.Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.
