The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs high quality ultrasound studies for obstetrical patients under the direction of a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician. The Sonographer participates in the training of other Registered Technologists, Students, and Residents as required. The incumbent provides diagnostic quality images using accepted protocol; discusses exams with Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician, accurately utilizes PACS, video and recorded information; maintains accurate patient files; records appropriate and timely information in the computer; maintains a professional attitude; and practices good patient care at all times.

7.5 hrs, / , Monday-Friday

• Graduate of a recognized school of imaging technology required.
• Registered or eligible to be registered with NSCMIRTP and/or Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) required.
• Member of the Sonography Canada required.
• Must have, and continue to maintain, registry status by obtaining the required continued medical education credits (CME) every three years.
• Experience in obstetrics preferred.
• Preceptor experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Competencies in other languages an asset.
