Claims Specialist

Intact is seeking a Claims Specialist to support our growth in specialized insurance. As a senior claims specialist, you will assist clients with professional liability and directors and officers liability claims, analyzing claim eligibility, conducting investigations, evaluating damages, and negotiating settlements.The role is based in Montreal, Laval, St-Hyacinthe, or Quebec.ResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional client service, explaining the claims process and responding to questions.Analyze client insurance coverage and explain protections related to the claim.Evaluate potential liability of the insured and/or third parties, based on relevant investigation elements.Assess the reasonableness and eligibility of claimed damages.Communicate effectively with clients on claim developments.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, following company standards and guidelines.Negotiate claims effectively, when applicable.Manage external costs and expenses.Collaborate with various departments, such as underwriting, distribution, and litigation, as well as with brokers.Participate in catastrophe responses, conferences, and trials, as needed.Stay current with industry knowledge and contribute to colleague development.RequirementsClient-focused approach.Effective communication and simplification of the claims process.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Intellectual curiosity.Ability to plan, organize, and establish strategies.Adaptability and negotiation skills.QualificationsCollege diploma or equivalent education.Valid AMF permit (5a).5+ years of experience in E&O D&O claims or equivalent.Bilingualism (French and English), with regular interactions with Anglophone clients.Insurance or law degree (an asset).What We OfferHybrid work model with flexible arrangements.Financial rewards program recognizing individual success.Employee Share Purchase Plan with 50% company match.Comprehensive benefits package, including virtual healthcare and flexible pension plan.Possibility to purchase additional time off.Annual wellness account promoting active lifestyle.Access to tools, resources, and learning ecosystem supporting physical and mental health.Inclusive employee networks for education, inspiration, and development opportunities.Community Impact program acknowledging individual contributions to the community.We are an equal opportunity employer, valuing diversity and promoting an accessible workplace.
