The Gahan Experience is a memorable one and that's because of our people, beer and food.The OpportunityThe Gahan House Hub City in Moncton is seeking a dedicated Head Chef who has gained considerable experience working in a high volume - fast paced kitchen, an individual who is driven by reaching their goals. The Head Chef will be a focused culinary professional who takes a hands-on management approach. The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations. They will have a strong knowledge of forecasting, food costing, inventory, scheduling, labour costs and the development and leadership of line level talent. They will be flexible to change and work alongside the Gahan House Family of restaurants Head Chefs to develop an elevated pub experience menu.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate and communicate the Gahan House vision to all team members and lead by exampleEnsuring team members provide a memorable culinary experience through coaching and fostering a positive working culture by reinforcing the MHG values daily, exciting team members with their positive nature and leadershipPresent an influential presence in the kitchen which fosters growth, learning and development, demonstrating and promoting a kitchen culture that revolves around the enjoyment of cooking, food and working as a teamBuild and maintain relationships with team members both back and front of houseWork with the Sous Chef, Prep Manager and team members to meet all projected goals when it comes to food cost, waste and labour controlOversee ordering of inventory and daily prep workWork on the line with team members, maintaining a high level of food qualityOversees kitchen operations and cleanlinessPerform all back of house crew duties as needed including prep and supportive work, working all line stations, and expediting dishesWho You ArePassionate for the culinary experience and the Hospitality industryWorks calmly under pressure and delegates tasks and provide direction as needed to team membersWorks well with others, enjoys teaching team members, and helps to grow and develop top line talentFlexibility - Our back of house staff will work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekendsA desire for personal and professional developmentWhat You Bring3+ years experience cooking in a full-service high volume restaurant2+ years experience in back of house managementA culinary diploma or degree is considered an assetWhat We OfferCompetitive Base SalaryAnnual bonus programRRSP Company Matching programGrowth and professional development opportunitiesEmployee Family Assistance ProgramsComprehensive Health, Vision and Dental BenefitsMHG Wellness & Fitness programsDiscounts from local shops and MHG locations #J-18808-Ljbffr
