Summary:

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment. We are seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting, with a specific focus on corporate accounting within the real estate industry. h3>

  1. General Ledger Management:
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled (including but not limited to, coding invoices, journal entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, depreciation, etc.).
  • Review and analyze account balances, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant accounting standards.
  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
Tax Compliance:
  • Sales tax (GST) preparation and monthly filing.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company's financial position.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
Audit Support:
  • Coordinate and support external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
  • Address audit inquiries and implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and deadlines.
Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; li>
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi) and Microsoft Excel.
