Functional Analysts manage the translation of business requirements to technical implementations, support business areas in the implementation and operational use of IT applications, and provide expertise in technology integration across Finance, Membership, Licensing, and Royalty Services and Operations. Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand business strategy and objectives to create necessary IT deliverables (e.g., Application roadmaps, Functional specifications).Collaborate with the IT Application Leadership and Product Management team to produce and maintain a strategy and initiative progress profile for the IT/Business relationship.Project Execution and Operational SupportAct as liaison with business to troubleshoot, investigate, and solve software problems; design and configure product modifications to satisfy requirements.Provide consulting services with functional expertise for assigned business areas and related processes.Prepare deliverables for development and deployment of technical solutions, including functional specifications and configuration/customization guides.Identify, define, and model application requirements for packaged applications and custom components.Participate in the design and configuration of applications supported by the IT application solutions team.Work with Application Developers to impart functional insight during technical solutions development.Analyze business unit processes and recommend solutions.Assist with testing scenarios, requirement traceability, and master data setup for testing.Conduct validation testing for application functionality and traceability.Support QA testers with functional guidance and defect management.Provide guidance and expertise for application implementation and post‑implementation support.Ensure procedures remain accurate and consistent; propose enhancements as needed.Apply functional design best practices to project management methodologies.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.At least 3‑5 years of experience in a senior functional role.Strong background in Microsoft Azure, Databricks development technologies.Business knowledge with a focus on financial applications and processes.Understanding of master data management, data integration, security concepts, and vulnerability management.Excellent documentation practices and ability to learn new tools and techniques.ERP configuration experience is an asset.Experience with Microsoft and productivity tools (e.g., Project Server, JIRA).Development background preferred with SQL (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL).Technical background preferred with MS .Net, C#, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, REST APIs, message queues, API gateways, AngularJS, Node.js and other Microsoft technologies including SharePoint, Project Server, PowerBI, Azure DevOps.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and presentation skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.Understanding of software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes.Leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.Accessibility & AccommodationSOCAN is committed to providing an inclusive workplace environment that meets the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities.
