Establish and maintain best practices for coding standards, reviews, simulation, and continuous integration workflows. Support cross‑functional design efforts involving software, hardware, DevOps, and QA teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, promoting growth, engagement, and accountability. Contribute to strategic planning by evaluating new FPGA technologies, EDA tools, and verification methodologies to improve design productivity and efficiency. Represent the FPGA function in technical discussions, design reviews, and program management activities, ensuring alignment with Ross Video’s technology roadmap. Leadership & Management Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of quality and efficiency. Supervise and coordinate staff activities: task scheduling, progress monitoring, and verification of work. Oversee hiring and performance reviews; facilitate career development and training initiatives. Ensure team roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and understood. Technical & Project Oversight Guide the development of design specifications in collaboration with product managers, software, hardware teams, and client stakeholder groups. Plan and oversee product development activities to meet business and customer objectives. Participate in architecture definition, technical proposals, and cost estimation. Review testing protocols and verify results for compliance and functionality. Ensure team follows best design practices such as code inspections and integration efforts. Advise management on development strategies, toolsets, methodologies, and design guidelines. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering, NPI, and other internal stakeholder groups. Respond to internal issues related to design projects (software, drafting, manufacturing, test, tech support). Lead cross‑functional problem‑solving initiatives. Manage 3rd‑party relationships and coordinate cross‑company initiatives. Communicate design requirements, status, and issues effectively with customers and internal stakeholders. Product & Domain Expertise Develop deep expertise in Ross Video products through documentation review, hands‑on experience, and collaboration with technical personnel.
