As a member of the Hyperconverged Solutions R&D team, you will further advance the Ross industry-leading A/V infrastructure products including Ultrix, the ultimate hyperconverged platform. Some of these perks include flexible hours, generous paid time off, fitness/wellness allowance, employee share ownership program, professional development support and a ton of fun social activities and events Best of all, you will be part of the Ross Video family/team, and we’ve got a pretty energizing environment here.What the job is all aboutDesign, simulate and test leading edge FPGA & HW solutions for Video marketDevelop schematics and support detailed board layout for designs (frequently contributing directly to technical decisions relating to signal integrity, density, fabrication constraints, and thermal considerations)Work with other members of the team to verify the functionality of the FPGA & HWThoroughly self-test all designs and support PV (aka QA) throughout development – this includes reviewing test plans to align focus, validating feedback, and debugging/fixing hardware problems as requiredGenerate both specification & design documentation to support cross functional aspects of the NPI processAssist in supporting other staff members as necessary through entire NPI process flow – including design, documentation, test, presales and customer serviceWho you areMid-level HW & FPGA design knowledge and experience across a broad range of topics including:Video (SMPTE-SDI, proprietary Video IP cores) and Audio (AES, MADI, etc)Logic building blocks & system architecturesHigh speed transceivers, clock domain analysis, & timing closureSoC Design integrationKnowledge of FPGA architectures, speed/area tradeoffs, high-speed transceivers, clock domain analysis, timing closure, and SoC platforms.Fluent in development languages and schematic capture used in HW design - VHDL and/or Verilog (preferred)Experience on Xilinx &/or Altera devices and associated design and debugging toolsExperience with designing large FPGA designs with high-speed hardware interfaces in an FPGA environment such as UHD-SDI, gigabit transceivers, DDR3/4 interfaces, source synchronous parallel busses and PLL’sProficiency in general circuit principles, power supply design, uP design, and signal conditioningStrong debugging skills & proficient with typical lab equipment (scopes, JBERTs, network analyzers, WFMs, etc)Ability to accurately estimate task and project durationsKnowledge of software languages such as C, C++, Java, and other design languages a plusStrong Windows computer skills; especially Excel & Visio - VBA scripting knowledge a plusKnowledge of broadcast studio applications & workflow preferred; especially router / distribution systems a plusHow to apply: Want to apply directly through our website?
