About The Role Axiom Builders is seeking a motivated Junior Construction Accountant to support the team in a variety of accounting related areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and audit documentation. This role will support financial and administrative functions by ensuring accuracy in billing, maintaining compliance with accounting systems, and coordinating with project teams to help streamline financial operations. As part of a fast‑paced team, this is an opportunity for an entry‑level professional to gain experience with high volume, complex accounting while servicing numerous stakeholders both internally and externally. This person is required to be on-site in Brentwood, and in our head‑office downtown Vancouver. Key Responsibilities Gather invoice copies for construction management (CM) billing jobs; Track and review subtrade progress claims; Assist with subcontractor data entry, monthly reconciliations, and monitoring insurance certificates in Procore; Sync subcontractor progress draws using Acumatica for seamless integrations and ensure project job cost syncing for real‑time project tracking; Manage project‑specific billing email account and address subtrade inquiries; Prepare and organize monthly subcontractor holdback (HB) packages; Prepare project cost report for Project Manager, assist with review and reallocate as required; Support the team to collect monthly statutory declarations and workers compensation board clearance letters; Conduct thorough reviews of accounts payable (AP) reports and review invoices; Assist with Prepare monthly progress billing and payment reports; Post cash receipts and process bank deposits. What You Bring The ideal Junior Construction Accountant is a fast learner, attentive to detail, coupled with exceptional organizational and time management skills that allow them to work quickly, as well as accurately, in a results‑oriented environment. This person will have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team, while always demonstrating a positive, enthusiastic attitude. We are looking for someone who excels at interpersonal relations and is comfortable reaching out to a variety of stakeholders at all levels of the business, both on site and office. Skills and Experience At least one to two (1‑2) years of experience in accounting, administration, bookkeeping or a related field; Degree, diploma, or certification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field; Excellent business communication skills, with both verbal and written communications; Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); Experience with Acumatica ERP or Sage/Timberline systems will be considered an asset; Prior experience in a construction or job costing environment will be considered an asset.
