Junior Project Accountant

Description As a Junior Project Accountant you will be responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely entry and reporting of data in the company financial systems. This includes accounts receivable, subcontract management, payroll, equipment time entry, accounts payable and month end reporting. Interaction and communication with management and project teams are important to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data. Join our true blue team and support our Building Construction group in Vancouver, BC Essential Responsibilities Supports the project management team in completing monthly cost and profitability reporting, including monthly accrual entryUnderstands contract requirements for billingCoordinates the accounts receivable functions including the timely and accurate submittal of Billing and invoicingEnsures timesheets are collected and processed timely and accuratelyReview Accounts Payable to ensure accurate cost coding and compliance to purchase orderTracks subcontractor commitments and enters progress payments including payment to the subcontractor; ensures compliance to contractual termsSupports equipment and fixed asset cost tracking, entry, and reconciliationPrepares and enters Journal Entries into financial ERP system (JD Edwards) Qualifications 1+ years of related project accounting experienceExperience within the construction industry is preferredProficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and financial applications including large ERP systems (JD Edwards experience would be an asset)A strong skill set within Excel (performing functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP)Analytical skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team environment, able to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlinesCommitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer serviceExcellent verbal and written communication skills Work Conditions This position is a hybrid in office/from home with the expectation of in office 2-3 days a week Compensation $51,200 - $70,400 Annual This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
