Senior Designer

Overview Remote role across Canada with preference for PST hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5.30pm PST). This is a 6-month fixed-term contract and part of our Personalized Content team, focused on emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale. Our specialty is hyper-personalised, digital communications that change perceptions and shift market share for clients including eBay, Walmart, Meta and more. Job Purpose As Senior Designer, you’ll join a nimble team that works across a variety of accounts. You thrive on variety, think on your feet, and solve problems without missing a beat. Senior Designers are expected to understand, organise and motivate people to achieve extraordinary outcomes. Key Responsibilities Working on a brief from start to finish Overseeing the work of and mentoring other designers Delivering constructive feedback Designing paid social assets following best practices Coaching team members and helping them realise development areas Designing responsive customer-centric emails and landing pages Maintaining and regularly optimising design systems Applying creativity to adhoc projects Striving to create work that contributes towards the client’s business goals Researching competitors and staying current with design and marketing trends Taking accountability for flawless design output Supporting creatives to define art direction when necessary Contributing innovative ideas at creative review meetings Protecting brand integrity and guardianship Driving timely delivery of work to a high standard by understanding your team’s capabilities What We Are Looking For 3–5 years of digital design experience Agency experience with brand, direct and above-the-line creative work Comfortable working as part of an English-speaking global team Ability to build client relations and confidently pitch ideas Good eye for layout, typesetting and retouching Proficient with digital design software (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) Understanding of basic motion design is a plus (Adobe After Effects) Deep understanding of CRM and paid social marketing Strategic designer with a customer-first approach for end-to-end user journeys Collaborative teammate who supports colleagues Highly organized with attention to detail Keeps up-to-date with creative knowledge and digital design trends Works with grit and determination under demanding deadlines Openness to new skills and challenges We Offer A flexible, hybrid working policy Salary based on experience with equal pay policies Mental health support and company sick pay 15 days paid holiday annually (plus public holidays) Office refreshments and drinks at 4 pm on Fridays Enhanced family-friendly policies Social and cultural events with opportunities to connect with colleagues Inspirational talks and guest speakers Learning and development opportunities Buddy programme for new joiners DEPT is a Certified B Corp since 2021 and has won multiple awards Opportunity to work with diverse clients across sizes and industries Support for skill development, training and certifications Global DEPT Cares Month supporting local charities Who We Are We are pioneers at heart—born digital and a new model of agency with deep skills in tech and marketing.
