Position Maintenance Manager Department Maintenance Position Summary / Objective The mandate of this position is to oversee all plant maintenance activities through effective execution of maintenance activities, people development strategies, and maintaining department budgets while optimizing equipment efficiency at Riverside. The Goals of the Position Reduction of equipment failures and downtime with clear root‑cause analysis. Attract, develop, and retain maintenance technicians to become in‑house technical experts for all equipment. Provide leadership to continually improve the maintenance function in a fast‑paced, fast‑growing food manufacturing environment. Primary Responsibilities Demonstrate and uphold Riverside’s core values. Understand and enforce health and safety policies and procedures. Understand and enforce Riverside’s food safety policies and procedures. Develop annual maintenance budgets. Develop annual maintenance priority objectives and vision. Unplanned maintenance Lead the maintenance group to reduce unplanned equipment stoppages and keep a finger on the pulse of the production floor at all sites. Ensure root‑cause analyses are completed and corrective actions are taken and communicated to the technician level. Planned / preventive maintenance Lead the team to increase planned to unplanned hours to a 70% planned ratio. Lead the team to develop, implement, and continually improve preventive maintenance programs; introduce predictive methods. Technical skills development for the team Develop a skills development plan for technicians and identify knowledge gaps. Provide mentorship to develop in‑house technical experts for all equipment. Continuous improvement Lead implementation of an effective continuous improvement program and promote Kaizen culture. Leadership Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to the maintenance team. Asset management Support new equipment projects through design review and acceptance testing. Verify spare‑parts availability and coordinate training for new equipment installations. Keep the work atmosphere fun by keeping it light and welcoming. Perform other duties as required. Reporting Relationships Reports to the Director of Maintenance. Maintenance supervisor reports to this position. Maintenance coordinators report to this position. Maintenance planner reports to this position. Technicians and contractors performing work assignments report to this position. Key Objectives Overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) PM schedule attainment Continuous improvement project outcomes Annual maintenance cost as % of line capital expenditure Annual utility cost growth rate Annual facility maintenance cost Education & Qualifications 5 years or more supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment. Undergraduate degree in engineering or a technical field. Proven desire to learn best practices. Passion for the food industry and engineering. Skills and Abilities Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrates humility in everyday interactions. Exhibits respect and protects Riverside’s core values. Owns work independently, prioritizes workload, and demonstrates strong organizational skills. Self‑starter with initiative and adaptability.
