**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Maintenance Manager creates preventative maintenance, infrastructure maintenance and major repair plans to drive uptime in a continuous operation environment. This hands-on role plays a key part of the Operations Management team and will have strong leadership skills, capable of managing a team and work effectively cross functionally to maintain the smooth operation of our facility.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance measures
- Manage and coordinate all maintenance activities within the facilities
- Utilize CMMS to plan, schedule, and track maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets
- Lead a Maintenance team providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronics systems to diagnose and resolve equipment failures promptly
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to source alternative parts, materials and specialized contractor services as needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with equipment manufacturers and service providers to stay updated on technological advancements and best practices
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, sourcing alternative parts, and ensure a rapid response to equipment failures
- Ensure spare parts inventory is maintained to ensure availability as needed to service the Operation
- Participate in new equipment installation and commissioning with cross functional team.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in all maintenance activities
- Create systems and processes to stay on top of maintenance activities, including equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance costs to identify areas of priority 3 months, 6 months and 1 year ahead
- Analyze, recommend, and prepare capital submissions for new and existing equipment and plant facilities.
- Implement and sustain processes to drive improvements in safety, quality and output and equipment uptime.
- Work with cross functional team to develop and manage maintenance budgets, minimize downtime, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation.

**Qualifications**:

- 5+ progressive experience in maintenance management, preferably in a food manufacturing
- Previous experience managing a large team is essential
- Ability to be on call 24/7 as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Experience with PLC and instrumentation is considered an asset
- Expertise in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), mechanical, electrical, and electronics systems
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment failures.
- Effective leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles is considered an asset
