Job Purpose: We are seeking a talented Senior Game Designer to join our team on a 3 to 6-month contract basis, with the potential for full-time employment upon successful completion of the project. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the design and narrative of our upcoming 3D story-driven educational game tailored for students in grades 1 to 8. Your responsibilities will include defining and documenting game design elements, game core mechanics, leading the conceptualization and prototyping process, and ensuring design requirements are set and documented for the successful delivery of key project milestones such as Alpha and Beta releases.

Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to refine existing storylines and characters, ensuring alignment with project goals and educational objectives. Develop engaging quest descriptions and dialogues that resonate with our target audience, fostering immersion and learning. Fill in narrative gaps and iterate on existing story elements to create a cohesive and compelling gameplay experience. Document all design decisions, technical specifications, and required information for developers in a comprehensive game design document. Lead and facilitate brainstorming sessions and design reviews, encouraging team members to contribute their ideas and perspectives.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, Interactive Media, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Proven experience as a Game Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your creative vision and technical proficiency. Expertise in designing and documenting game mechanics, quests, and narratives for educational or children’s games. Proficiency in Unity as relates to understanding the engine's limitations and capabilities Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience with educational games is preferred
