Overview Senior Manager, Operational Risk role at Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group (CC&L). The ideal candidate is a strong leader and communicator who can identify operational risks, develop or critically assess mitigation plans, and implement leading practices while contributing to the strategic direction of the Operations Risk Group and Investment Operations. This position offers an opportunity to evolve and develop a team whose scope, visibility, and importance continue to grow. Location: Toronto, ON. What You Will Do Drive and embed a risk intelligent culture and operational excellence across business processes and controls within Operational Risk Management. Lead and oversee a small expert team in governance and execution of the Operational Risk framework, partnering with portfolio managers, client servicing staff, middle & back-office teams, and information technology. Evolve and advance Operational Risk Management policies and procedures in line with business and industry developments, applying leading practices. Partner with Information Security Management to provide operational risk expertise for information security policies and procedures, and co-manage business continuity and operational resiliency programs. Oversee the Operational Risk Management team (currently 3 managers in Vancouver) covering risk incident management, targeted risk assessments, risk and control self-assessments, business continuity, vendor due diligence, and operational risk across projects, fund launches, and other initiatives across the Group. Collaborate with the Operational Risk Senior Manager on audit, controls, and attestations programs. Work with the Executive, business, and technology teams to identify risks, review control effectiveness, and provide cost-effective mitigation and improvement plans. Report operational risk issues, trends, and outcomes to Senior Management on a regular basis. Enhance risk intelligent culture training and education. What You Bring Passion for Operational Risk Management with a solid track record and knowledge of risk management frameworks, principles, technologies, and practices within investment management or financial services. Relevant risk qualifications or certifications are an asset. Experience in leading teams, including coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, recruiting, and training. Collaborative mindset with ability to build productive relationships across business units and stakeholders. Influential communicator with comfort challenging status quo and representing ideas at various organizational levels. Strategic thinking and ability to set direction for an operational risk management team. Continuous process improvement mindset with root-cause analysis and problem-solving abilities. Excellent writing, listening, and presentation skills for disseminating information at all levels. Accountability and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Investment knowledge or genuine interest in the investment or financial services industry.
