UX/UI Designer

Sr. UX/UI Designer – Big 5 Bank Duration: 6‑month rolling contract. Location: on‑site every Wednesday and every 3rd Friday each month at downtown Toronto, ON. Shift: 37.5 hours/week. What you’ll be doing The UX/UI Designer will support and facilitate the development of the bank’s Frontline experience across multiple digital properties. As a UX/UI designer, you’re a master storyteller, user experience evangelist and creative problem solver. You can drive design objectives and deliver innovative concepts while maintaining brand & design standards to ensure cross‑site consistency. You’re passionate about inclusive design, usability and performance. You enjoy keeping abreast of the latest design trends as well as collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver optimal design solutions and a cohesive/compelling experience for our clients. Responsibilities Concepts & Designs – lead the development and manage the end‑to‑end UX/UI process to deliver creative digital design concepts and solutions for bank’s Frontline digital properties. User Research & Usability Testing – participate in planning usability testing & stakeholder interviews and incorporate feedback into concept and/or application development. Standards & Guidelines – help define, create and maintain the bank’s Frontline design and standards documentation to enforce brand coherence, accessibility standards and cross‑site consistency. Project Delivery – define and deliver design components (wireframes, user workflows, interaction rules) for assigned projects in an agile/iterative environment with timely delivery. Relationship Building – build and manage complex stakeholder relationships, act as mentor and coach to new team members, collaborate with other senior designers to mature design practice. Innovation & Design Workshops – drive activities that promote innovation during delivery cycles and collaborate closely with UX Strategy on ideation and early project stages. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in Digital Design, UX Design, Visual Design, Human‑Computer Interaction or equivalent; experience coordinating and leading large‑scale Design Thinking workshops. Advanced expertise in Figma, Sketch, InVision, user‑centered design principles, UX research methods, mobile & responsive design, inclusive design and WCAG accessibility standards. Digitally savvy, embraces evolving technologies, quickly adapts to new tools and trends. Strong influence and relationship skills; capable of inspiring outcomes by making yourself heard. Client‑focused mindset; engages purposefully to find right solutions, goes the extra mile.
