RESPONSIBILITIES This role offers a unique opportunity to not only contribute as a value-add member of the Audit team, but also to be a part of a new chapter in extending the Internal Audit team presence to Montreal. The Associate will be part of the Americas Capital Markets Internal Audit team and will make key contributions to Audit’s regular assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of SG Americas Markets & Investment Management businesses from Front to Back, Risk management teams (second line of defense) focused on four risk stripes namely Market, Counterparty, Model and Liquidity Risk, Compliance to markets related regulations related to these businesses, and an opportunity to contribute to global Audit initiatives, innovation, and reviews. The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to assist in: Participating in periodic continuous monitoring meetings and annual risk assessments; Planning the audit, in coordination with the team; Analyzing processes, procedures, risks, and evaluating the internal controls; Preparing clear and concise work papers and drafting audit findings to bring any concerns to management’s attention; Assisting in preparing the final audit report; Tracking and following up on open audit and regulatory issues; Working on special projects and initiatives, as needed; Stay abreast of industry trends that may impact the areas and risks under your responsibility. Profile required Skills and Qualifications: Candidate should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience. Familiarity with Capital Markets businesses and Financial Services products Familiarity with Risk Management best practices and how they apply in the Financial Services Industry Familiarity with rules and regulations applicable to Markets and Investment Management businesses Highly motivated and committed to success of the department and bank while working in a fast-paced environment Excellent written / verbal communication skills, able develop professional relationships Demonstrates curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and self-development with a focus on growing further within Internal Audit and Capital Markets Bachelor's degree Demonstrates initiative, integrity, creativity, and a strong desire to learn Analytical and problem-solving skills Strong team spirit, information sharing, creating best practices, facilitating resolution of conflict. Plus A relevant certification (CIA, FRM, CFA) LANGUAGE: Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
