Lead Auditor – Capital Markets National Bank of Canada A career as a Lead Auditor – Capital Markets at National Bank will add great value to our business partners’ end‑to‑end process and positively impact clients and employees. As Lead Auditor for the Capital Markets team, you will focus on key risks in Capital Markets (Front Office, Capital Markets Operations, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance). You will collaborate with strategic partners throughout the Bank to identify risk areas, propose improvements, and share expertise with colleagues. Responsibilities Perform audit work and/or lead audits of capital markets sectors Act as an ambassador for Internal Audit with partners in Capital Markets, Operations, Market Risk, Operational Risk, and compliance Negotiate and influence senior management regarding issues raised and possible solutions Coach the team on processes, governance, reporting and best practices Collaborate with Audit and other risk/control functions to drive overall effectiveness Your Team You will join a multidisciplinary team of more than 20 colleagues and report to the Senior Manager – Internal Audit Capital Markets. Prerequisites Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a related field Curiosity and a desire to learn new business activities and related processes Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and partners from diverse backgrounds towards a common goal Independent, accountable, collaborative, detail‑oriented and proactive Excellent spoken and written communication skills, ability to simplify and synthesize information Qualifications Auditor profile Minimum 7 years of in‑depth experience in the audit profession In‑depth understanding of the audit process (leading mandates, identifying risks, evaluating controls, drafting issues/audit reports) Professional auditor certification: CPA, CIA or equivalent Capital Markets profile Minimum 7 years of in‑depth experience in the end‑to‑end Capital Markets process (Front Office, Capital Markets Operations, Market Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, and/or Compliance Capital Markets) Understanding of risks inherent to Capital Markets activities Capital Markets certification: FRM/PRM, CFA Additional required languages: English, French.
