This role offers the flexibility to work from one of our local offices in a hybrid environment.Your Key ResponsibilitiesImplement environmental assessment, impact assessment, and permitting processes for a variety of projects, including mining, infrastructure, industrial, and community developmentsManage project tasks and deliverables related to Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)Write and coordinate proposals and reports tailored to specific project requirementsConduct desktop studies to support regulatory requirements for various developmentsDevelop and implement consultation programs with a focus on diverse stakeholdersCommunicate and liaise effectively with project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and the publicWork with a group of professionals across Canada, focusing on environmental impact assessments and regulatory complianceBuild on previous client relationships to provide opportunities and support development.Actively participate in key client meetings and professional/industrial organizations to promote StantecCollaborate with Key Account Managers and Sector Leaders to achieve excellent business outcomesBe responsible for the dedicated staff providing Environmental Impact Assessment services, particularly within the Assessment & Permitting teamYour Capabilities and CredentialsStrong listening and problem-solving skillsAbility to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary project teamsCapacity to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExceptional attention to detail and communication skillsProven project management skills, delivering quality results on time and within budgetWillingness to undertake periodic short-term, regional travelSelf-motivated with excellent technical writing and public speaking skillsEducation and ExperienceA university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field is required.Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental program and project development, implementation, and management, with a focus on renewable energy projectsExperience with environmental impact assessments, including Federal IA, Class EA, TPAP, and/or Ontario Energy Board/Canada Energy Regulator processes is preferredPreferred Qualifications and Assets:Training in environmental assessment programsMembership in Ontario Professional Planners Institute, OAIA, or ECO Canada EP designationConsulting experience, particularly in environmental impact assessmentsExpertise in community consultations, securing site access, and regulatory approvals, including with Indigenous communitiesFamiliarity with project financingExperience in mentoring rising talentActive participation in strategic planning and execution, including pre-positioning for key projects and developing RFP responsesProject management experience, maintaining billable work, and ensuring successful project deliveriesTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
